At Emmanuel, before anything we do, we make time to meet with Jesus. We begin with prayer.
This year you are invited to join us for The Fortnight, two weeks of set apart time to seek God for the year ahead. We will have in person prayer meetings, online prayer meetings, daily devotionals, and an invitation to join in fasting together, all culminating in a half night of prayer on Friday the 16th of January.
This page will be kept up to date with any details you may need, but if you have more questions, please contact your site leader.

Mark 1:35 says, "And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he [Jesus] prayed".
Our days get full, the bed is comfortable, it's the one time of day where the kids are (maybe) still asleep, you're not a morning person - there are all sorts of reasons why an early morning is hard, but there are all sorts of blessings we get to seek God for together and call down in prayer! Jesus knew the value of making - not finding, making - space for prayer. Let's follow His example, rise early in the morning while it is still dark, and pray.
If you feel you would like to, and your health allows, join us as we seek more of God through fasting.
We've recorded the video below with some teaching with some biblical basis for it as well as some practical advice if you're wanting to seek God in this way, especially if it is your first time.
We encourage you to watch the video, discuss it with a leader, and plan how you might join us in fasting food, in abstaining from something else, or using this as an opportunity to learn more before you take any practical steps forward.
If you decide you would like to fast for the first time, we invite you to join others at the same point in their journey by fasting one meal on the days of our in person prayer meetings!
We'll be fasting lunch on Wednesday the 7th of January, and fasting dinner on Friday the 16th of January before our half night of prayer.
